Shockingly, with the development time of games being 2+ years, when a game gets to its last year, the publishers want to start generating hype. Also, when we hit 2012, and there is a 'best games of 2011' article, you can expect to see at least half of these games, so I don't see what your problem is.
I for one hadn't heard of Homefront, and it looks like one I'll keep tabs on. Can't wait for DE3 and ME3.
Of this list, only Batman and ME3 will demand a full-scale-call-in-sick-until-game-is-beaten response from me, with Portal 2 getting a honorable mention. Of course, if Valve ever gets around to working on finishing up Episode 3 of what's turned into their magnum opus it'll get a similar treatment. Seriously, guys, nearly four years to crank out what'll probably amount to ~4-5 hours of gameplay? Once Duke Nukem Forever finally comes out and leaves the vaporware top spot open you'll be meriting some serious consideration.

The only game exciting me at the moment is TDU2. I played TDU to death and can't wait for the sequel. Other than that I have too many games already in my Steam list that I need to play before buying any new ones.
The game I most want won't be out for another eleven months. Damned Bioware announcing it so early.
I am, however, looking forward to Human Revolution, Duke Nukem, and The Witcher 2 as well, but all three are overshadowed by the notion of seeing my hard work on Shepard being brought to a conclusion.
Indeed, this list is very similar to the one that was published recently in PC Gamer. Almost identical actually.
Brink, DoW2 Retribution, Deus Ex 3, Battlefield 3 and Portal 2 are the ones to look out for this year, for me anyway.
I have sincere doubts about DNF... but I hope they are dispelled. Bulletstorm looks like a very viable alternative for the frantic shooter this year.
other pages, meh. RPG's and probably going to be brown shooters. not much innovation.
although Homefront sounds different, to the frontline shooters we've gotten bored over the times. not sure about Deus Ex 3, i try not getting my hopes up to be disappointed.
Brink should be something to look forward to, brilliant concept.
any other new IP we should be looking forward to? sequals are nothing unless they have amazing innovative gameplay additions (eg, Portal 2's coop)
Diablo 3 has been in development for so long, I'm past caring about it. I'm looking forward to Bulletstorm for some decent PC deathmatch play, and possibly Id's Rage.

Maybe I should start reading PC Gamer again then.
I've been hands-on with Brink a few times over the last few months. I'm yet to be impressed.

Hasn't D3 been in production as long as Mass Effect 1,2 and 3 put together?
John Milius wrote the script for homefront! Now on my raidar :-)
Arkham Asylum caught me completely off guard , it really was like playing the man himself in an movie and I got lost in it for days. Hopefully the sequel is as good and shinier!
Deus EX...nuff said!
Ive had mass effect sitting on my shelf for over a year and a half unplayed... Im starting to feel like I'm doing myself an injustice. Think I might add playing 1 & 2 to my new years resolutions list. What is putting me off is that fhe fallout games get rave reviews but they bore the crap outa me with their "A man is beating up a girl, do you want to A: Tell him to stop: B: Beat the crap out of him or C: Pick your nose" content... obviously I am going to kick the crap out of him so stop asking me to answer stupid bloody questions!
Diablo 3 elicpses all for me. The one game I've been waiting nearly 10 years for. I have a feeling if its even half as good as D2 then all other games will simply cease to exist for a good while. For me anyway. Sadly I still don't believe it will appear in 2011. Other watchers for me are:
I tried getting into ME, but the first time I drove a moon buggy across some of the most bugged textures where I couldn't tell where the road was drove me to despair as I kept dying. Fruitless attempts to fix the problem only added to the frustration so I gave up. ME2 however, after playing the recent PS3 demo, looks pretty damn good. I'd have to watch a catchup video I think.
honestly i think that this is a Little obvious as all titles are essentially AAA here
I think its a very exciting Year for Mortal Online which will see the game either 1.) Fail completely or 2.) grow to become the next Ultima Online
also im particularly looking forward to dungeon defenders and Torchlight 2 (if it is a 2011 game) but out of that list i will probably play portal 2 and the witcher 2

Also, you missed out Skyrim!
You should do an "Indie Games of 2011" article as well.
most of the games in the article look nice, wait and see...
KUDOS!
Will we see it ever?

Deus X, Portal 2 and Batman AC would be my pick from that list.

Arkham City
Uncharted 3
Portal 2
Deus Ex 3
If I can tear myself away from GT5, that is.
in many ways describes my perfect game (/novels/movies/etc...) I hope so much that DE3 can live up to expectation.
But - Wot? No Shogun TW2?
