Although I didn't really enjoy the low grav sequences of Crysis I will be willing to give this a shot.

Looks really nice, but FFS the fewer classes there are the more you need more guns! Might give it a try if I can find a few spare hours.

youd be suprised, with everyone fighting on an equal ground it makes the game a lot more tactical and exciting.

cant beat a stealth kill ;)

Fixed.

I was a beta tester under NDA for this game, I had some fun, too bad there are only 4 maps, they look great especially the ISS. I love looking at the Earth and noticing we are moving.
Quote frontline 7th November 2009, 17:24
The lack of different classes means the game is better balanced and requires more skill and patience than your average multiplayer shooter. Well worth the money and with free maps/content promised, should only get better. Couldn't stand the gameplay of TF2 or L4D, this is far better imo.

That is called "Understanding Yourself", I am sure you can find many workshops and gurus to help you with this, but it is all up to You.

Shattered Horizon is the best fps to come out in years, and it is cheaper than cheap, be part of the Revolution, get it today!

"There's also a stealthy silent-movement feature but we didn't feel it added a great deal to the gameplay."

From reading the review it is obvious that you never understood what makes this game at least a 9, maybe a 10.
Play for another month and review it again.

I have a good vocabulary, what does "minim" mean? Is that secret-handshake graphics terminology? Maybe a UK only word? (If you need someone to check your copy, hire someone)

For a quick tutorial of the 'silent running' feature, watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4tpUcpycqY&hd=1

Not too sure you guys got the time to appreciate the point of ShatterredHorizon's MP to be heavily tactics based, but otherwise an alright review.

It definitely does take some getting used to, and not just to fly around, but shooting, as attaching to walls is the best way to get gunned down, can't play this game like a normal shooter, you'll get shot to pieces within seconds.
Quote bogie170 7th November 2009, 22:15
I played this for an hour. Its pretty good. Guns are pretty lame though. Tactical wise, stay in groups and cover each others backs.

The best game in the fps genre for years and it gets a 7, I think i need to send flowers or chocolate to the bit-tech offices, maybe it is the rain, they have fumbled alot of reviews lately.
Quote DarkLord7854 8th November 2009, 00:51
I don't think I'd call it the "best game in fps genre for years" as that's very much opinion-based, but I do find it rather good..

Hehe.

I don't suppose they'd consider spending a 5 hour scrimmage with me in Project Reality for BF2.

"The lack of different classes means the game is better balanced and requires more skill and patience than your average multiplayer shooter."
Project Reality has quite a few classes and is balanced. Perhaps the problem is the lack of cohesion and requirement/limitations for classes/kits and necessary teamplay. This is what I can remember from the USMC.

Combat Engineer
Sniper
Marksman
Heavy Anti-tank
Grenadier
Officer
Pilot
Crewman
Medic
Rifleman Red-dot
Rifleman ACOG
Rifleman specialist
Rifleman Anti-tank
Automatic Rifleman

I love the StC measuring system - was chatting to Chet Faliszek about it last week.

I kind of agree with your review, even though I think this is the best FPS to come out in a long time. The core competancies are fantastic, but there little meat on the bones to keep you coming back. But to be fair, the reasoning (hard sci-fi) is sound and it is very cheap. Would you rather buy two MW2 maps instead? :P

The title of some of the upcoming free DLC sounds very intereting too.
