i actually went for an interview at pivotal. didn't get the job - apparently i was 'unenthusiastic' - but do you blame me? The following is an excerpt from an actual conversation i had with a team leader:
"So, you'd consider yourselves a shooter developer?"
"Yeah, well, we'd like to branch out - we really like the Wii, but when you have guys here that do nothing but model tanks, it's going to be pretty hard to do that."
"haha?"
"No, really."
He was being serious, and sounded proud about it. Pivotal has expert tank modellers. Good for them, I guess. But it really goes to show the root problem of this game: a lack of imagination.
Please, don't take this as a bitter interviewee who didn't get the job. I'm not happy I didn't get it, and I'm not sad. I never ended up with a job in games; Time will tell if this is a good thing. (atm, i'm thinking, i already view coding as 'a job' - it probably would have killed games for me)
OMG, a score outside of the 5 - 10 range! Lol, just joking, good review, even if the game does look utter gobshite. Those graphics really do look shockingly bad, did the devs even for one moment think it looked remotely modern? An old game that looks old is fine, but a new game that tries to look new, but ends up just looking old just reminds you constantly of how bad it looks.
Whats with the sudden rash of 2 man squad games? Kayne and Lynch, Army of Two, Conflict: Denied Ops...
Why do developers feel the need to force actual human interaction upon us geeks? Surely they must realise we chose to play single player FPSes because we hate all human interaction and secretly desire to kill everyone. :P
Powered by GameSPY, which isn't as popular as it was? Because of GameSPOT? Aren't they owned by completely different companies? Maybe I missed something...
Good review though, loved seeing something get below a 5 lol
I downloaded and played the PS3 demo of this game and while it was very playable, it only just about covered the bases to be 'a game'. It's like the developers were too concentrated on building fancy pant tanks and only put the last hour of the day into the game.

There's nothing wrong with while, it's generally accepted as the convention.
I think there's a subtle difference in the meanings - while away the time would be just passing time. Wile away the time would be to steal time away from one's other duties.
I get the feeling that joe would rather scrub the toilet than play this, so I'd bet on while

You're right - it was just me making a boob. Fixed now though. And yes - toilets > conflict imho.

Wile also means to pass the time agreeably (source), but yes you're correct saying it could be either or.
Any chance of some slightly bigger pictures so we can see the awesome graphics in full swing?
It seems rather ridiculous not being able to jump. An expert tank modellers wtf? how are they going to get a job anywhere when the company goes bust, which judging by this it will.
I think that 3 is justified given how rubbish this game sounds.

Notes I made included; I can't jump? Why aren't the enemies even TRYING to kill me? What the...?
Really there's no reason I'd recommend anyone to even try this game.

I'm playing through Oni at the moment. Oni is an extremely good game.
