Tbh I cant tell the difference between the DX9 and DX10 shots. The res on the screenies is far too large and you cant really compare them side by side.

It's honestly very hard to show the difference between the two without motion video as the most definite change is the more realistic motion blur and the feeling that the particle effects are a little more chaotic and less predictable.
The one main difference is shadow quality, but that really hits performance.
Got to agree, it didn't feel consoley at all. True, the game said 'Press X', but in it's demo form I'll accept that when the gameplay is solid. Which it was. Easy to move, shoot, zoom and aim with all the precision you'd expect using standard PC controls on a PC game.
Intel E4300 @ 3.00Ghz (1334 FSB), 2GB Corsair 800Mhz 4-4-4-12, 8800GTS 640MB, 1920 x 1200 4xAA 16x AF Everything Maxed (i.e. everything as close to Bit-Tech's machine as possible)
Snow: Min: 3FPS Average: 9FPS
Cave: Min: 1FPS Average: 7FPS.
Will post some max playable settings later.
And yeah, the PC version is way more fun than the 360 version?
I tried this last night. as soon as I loaded it you could tell it was something special.
I was amazed at the detail of the game. THe textures of the character and environment were just perfect.
As well as my first proper directx10 "technology demo" the game is actually pritty good. Both the stages in the demo are exciting and action packed.
It ran sooo smoothly on my pc on all settings as high as they could be.
8800GTS only 320 meg version
AMD X2 5600+
2 gig of 6400 memory.
The only complaint that I have is the resolution options suck. no 1680x1050. in this day and age with very common widescreens around I would of though they would cater for a hugely popular resolution of widescreen. Lets hope there is a fix for it on retail
The resolutions available are the Xbox 360 16:9 ones (720p and 1080p) your monitors native res and then for no reason instead of the standard 4:3 and 16:10 resolutions we're all used to (1024 x 768, 1680 x 1050) there's some really weird ones, 1600 x 1000 anyone?
Then again, it is still pretty early in the demo's production (press b?).
What kind of frame rates are you getting with your Athlon DriftCarl? You say everything maxed but I can't mnage that even at 1280x720)
With 0xAA 8xAF low HDR medium shadows and everything else maxed I get 32fps average and 23fps min (so says fraps)
I got the demo two days ago and am playing over and over. The explosions are the best I've ever seen. I get great FPS too, with maxed settings and medium shadows. I don't know exactly as Fraps doesn't work, but its definitely over 30 and feels like its over 40 when stuffs not explody. I love DX10, I'm so glad I shelled out the extra cash for a 8800 instead of a 7 series or a ATi.
Had a go last yesterday, turned the res to the maximum 1280*1024 it seemed to have available (annoyed at no 1680*1050), turned one or two other settings slightly up (I forget which now) and ran the test, 15, 25 averages. Tried to actually play, and it booted me out turning the first corner and firing because the framerate had apparently dropped too low.
tried dropping to 1024*768 and lowering a setting or two below the defaults and it would let me play, but the framerate was still too low to really call it playable - combined with the motion blur it was pretty much impossible to hit anything that wasn't stationary, also 1024*768 looked absolutely terrible.
I wasn't all that impressed by the keys either, though I haven't tried rebinding them yet either.
the way aiming was implemented made it feel a little bit too 'consoley' to me. Apart from that, loved the demo - graphics are absolutely incredible, even though I'm running them a little lower than I could be to get a higher FPS.

I especially hate when they are poorly ported.

Those are the settings basically.
screen rez is 1152x864 which seems to be the best fit to my screen.
I tried AAx8 but it got a bit laggy and i didnt notice much difference anyway.
all the other settings were on high.
average fps was 34 in snow and 37 in the cave.

Even on a 7600gt. It runs great.
Having technical issues with my sound card, but then again, I always do. I use an emu 0404, so issues with gaming are bound to happen.

Best.... Demo... Ever! (That's demo, maybe not game)
Shame I haven't got the hardware to run it properly though...
