I'll put in a 4th vote.
As long as I get one too!

And I thought Oblivion was fun and engrossing - the screenshots look great with lots of HDR, especially the moon shot with the glow from the windows.

This is one game I have been looking forward to, even with the delays, I still eagerly anticipated its arrival. No point asking for a beta key as my current rig won't run it.
Quote Cthippo 7th February 2007, 12:57
I'm just concerned that they actually get the bugs ironed out and have a good game ready to go on release day. As we've seen before, the little things can kill a game.

[fingers crossed] Please, please run ok on my lappy [/fingers crossed]

I know you probably don't want to say, what with it being a pre-release version, but what kind of system were you using?
Quote teamtd11 7th February 2007, 13:43
Anyone want to vote for me to have a beta key???

:D I looks... its been a while since there has been a game coming out that i want on release.
Quote Mankz. 7th February 2007, 13:51
Good God

From what you've said, this seems to be the 'perfect' game, and mabey those 6 years have been worth the wait. :D

i have this on pre order and so long as its a lot better than its spin off Boiling point ill be happy however i hope it doesnt use the same leveling system that Oblivion used cause that ruined Oblivion for me
Quote DXR_13KE 7th February 2007, 14:47

You mean like Oblivion... Crashes all the time... It is now has a playable frame rate with newer drivers.

Been looking forward to this for some time, was one of the games I had in mind when I bought this machine.
Quote Skill3d 7th February 2007, 15:39
what are the system specs for it or did i totally overlooked them when i looked at the screenshots and the nice story :)?
Quote Tim S 7th February 2007, 15:53
I don't think the final system specs have been confirmed yet. We certainly weren't given final specs. :)
Quote Redbeaver 7th February 2007, 16:20
as long as Nvidia can come out with a Vista driver that supports my 7'series SLI by end of March, im peachy...... :)
Quote samkiller42 7th February 2007, 17:02

That does look pretty good. Seems like not only a great visual experience, but the game play seems like it will be top notch too. I doubt my 6600gt will be able to handle it though.

Oh look, it's a three year old first-person shooter with four very similar pixel shader effects.

Yawn.

Not sure this game is just a FPS - there seems to be a lot more tie into the environment and characters making it a hybrid of FPS/RPG. In fact, didn't the reviewer say just that?! :-D

Can you guys at bit-tech comment on whether enemy/dropped weapons are steal-able? Is this done via the kit salvage you mentioned? Like, I kill a sniper with a pickle-fork and I get his Barret M82A1? :-D

I so want to play this game...
Quote Neogumbercules 7th February 2007, 23:03
Me too shomann, me too.

"It would be lazy, but not wildly off the mark, to describe S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as Oblivion with guns. And radiation." :)

It looks like it could get me in trouble, like oblivion, morrowind, and gta with the large area and all the time I can play.
Quote Cthippo 8th February 2007, 01:20
Has anyone else considered what this might be like as an MMO? Sounds like, in addition to being Oblivion with guns, it could also be WOW with guns assuming the Stalker guids were similar. Possible mod?
