Soo tempting, Ive been waiting for this for ages. I may have to order the boxed one though.
DAMN, their purchasing store is down due to being overloaded :P
Quote nphekted 29th September 2006, 18:20
40 minutes to go, buy it now if you want the discount! :)
Quote BioSniper 29th September 2006, 18:27
I wish I could but the Introversion store is down and my credit card is in a box somewhere as im in the middle of moving rooms around :(
Such a shame as I really wanted to play this but the boxed version isnt (to me) worth 15 quid and a tenner is a little much for a steam download when it comes off pre-order price. Unless steam now allows switch cards.

Tried to buy it from their site but just got "Our store is oveloaded" With no timeframe as to when it's gonna be back. Hope they take either PayPal or Solo otherwise I'm ****ed :(

Few broken links on the full-size images, this and this.

Looks like an awesome game, will be pre-ordering tonight I think. :D
Quote BioSniper 29th September 2006, 18:36
Nath you have about 20 mins to pre-order before it goes back up in price.
Found the creditcard yay!
Quote The_Pope 29th September 2006, 18:41

Regarding the scrolling issues:

From what I've heard, the UI is customizable, so you can drag-move any of the "control strips" (eg. the time strip off the top), and put it where-ever you like.

Moving it down a cm or two should do the trick.

Anyone else unable to authenticate their copy via steam? Im guessing the server is really over loaded or something.
Atleast it gives me time to cook

You read correctly - you can move around all the various panels. Quite why we didn't figure out you could move *this* one I don't know. In any case, an update has been written into the review. Many thanks for the pointer

Hi, my name is Tyinsar and I like the first few turns of Risk but after that I think it Sucks (I especially Hate the "I've been almost eliminated but I'll trade in my cards, get a 'bazillion' armies - I win!") - I do, however, like Risk 2210 (link)

Oh man, this looks awesome.

Please release a demo for us poor chaps who can't buy it yet.
Quote Bindibadgi 29th September 2006, 21:54
I cant get on their site :( It just times out :(

Honestly... this game reminds me so much of WarGames.
"I want to play Global Thermonuclear War."
"Wouldn't you like to play a nice game of Chess?"
"No. Global Thermonuclear War."

Honestly though. Do you get bonus points for targeting Seattle and Las Vegas?
Quote r4tch3t 29th September 2006, 22:27
Heh, this is one of those gems. A game that doesn't rely on stunning visuals and advanced physics to sell, Just pure gameplay. ;)
Quote aggies11 29th September 2006, 22:34
Yep, this game definitely looks like loads of fun.

I bought a bunch of em off the site (at that price, it's a *steal*), and alot of friends will be getting this one as a christmas present.

The day-one load on this game is tough, if you bought it from the introversion site (not steam), they should have emailed you your keys, and there are various mirrors to download the game. The full game is also the demo it appears. List of mirrors at: http://www.introversion.co.uk/defcon/downloads/

My favourite part right now: Rolling Demo mode. Watching a few AI's duke it out amongst themselves. Would make one heck of a screen saver ;)

My strategy sucks but I'm loving it so far.

It's RTS without the drawn out learning curve, which is a good thing imo.

It's because it constantly talks to defcon home server and that server is being hammered atm so all game joinings, game listing and updates are causing the game to screw.

Im getting this though:
