You shoot an arrow as far as i know. It's looking pretty good there, i might have to get it.
Anyone else think that the protagonist's arms in the final screenshot look weird?

Wow someone must have read my mind when I was thinking about games I want. This looks fantastic (as long as load times aren't an issue) and will certainly be a must have for me.
So how does the RPG element work? As you hack, slash and bow-n-arrow (is there a verb for shooting an arrow? If so, that ain't it! - Ed.) your way through the game, you are rewarded for completing tasks with skill points. These points can then be spent on buying different skills to upgrade your character's abilities. The skill sets are split up into three separate categories: combat, magic and miscellaneous. Within each skill set, the initial abilities cost the least amount of points; as more advanced skills are opened up, costs increase greatly.
I think in this situation loose or shoot would be fine to use. One thing that is frowned uppon in archery is saying 'fire' as there is no such thing involved.

Have to agree. I was one of the lucky bunch who got MP keys from bit-tech's contest (thanks guys), and seeing warriors in action is a pretty bad joke. Granted, M&M is a roleplay environment and shouldn't be all matrix-anime-prince of persia style, but the animations and maneuvers could at least look a little more interesting.
Plus, the "target lock" mode kinda makes the experience a little on the easy side once you get good using it.
Chances are the multiplayer will be released with a lot of bugs, but because of Steam updating and patching shouldn't be too big a problem.
I must say I was quite shocked to read that passage. Is that how low software standards have fallen - that the many, many bugs that exist in a released-to-public aka "finished" version of a game are fixed within a reasonable amount of time? Has QA gone completely out the window?
Id love to try this demo but I cant get it to work. It plays the movies then the load screen comes up. After that it goes to a black screen and finally mm.exe crashes. :(

My main problem with it is when you're getting a fairly limted ability to glance around without turning your whole body, limited peripheral vision, no real sense of where all of your body is, and less of a three dimensional view of how your fighting them - while it's obviously different in style and limited in number of moves, the PofP sword fighting style does allow you a much better sense of where you and your opponent are.
I have been playing the MP Beta a lot lately. Note, I did not win the contest, but still got my key from GameSpot. In the first phase, the warriors were overpowered as heck, they could sprint and chop you up like cabbage in no time. During the second level change on the servers the game was more more balanced out and fun to play. It is actually cool to play as archers and rouges now.
Thanks for the game preview, I'll be pre-ordering it soon :).
If referring to older style bows (recurves, long bows, etc), you "pluck" the bow (as if you were to pluck the string of a string instrument). I think for compound bows it's referred to as shooting.
