Don't worry guys - we will be developing this over time, adding more games. We have more than enough capacity to run all the games mentioned here simultaneously on this box, thanks to the spanky Intel processors. Please be patient and keep an eye on the site for the roll-out
That was a great blast. I'm looking forward to seeing some other servers, it'd be great to have a couple of smaller ones(18 person tops) with FF always on and perhaps all but the scout banned on one of the two.
Twas a good night though, the server was flawless, and it was much fun repeatedly killing garside :D
AGHHH i wanna come own you guys, but i haven't played CSS in a long time
However, i would like to put a huge blow on your SMP ideas
Source is Single threaded, so even if your have 900 cores, the source server will still only use 1, great if you want to run 900 servers, but not great for just 1 ;)
also, this virtualization bollocks (excuse my french) is such a complete waste of time, firstly - you have the overhead of 3 (?) OS's, in ram HDD and processing power
Plus the fact, all servers are best under Linux, its just a fact ;) (even if the latest SDK update does screw up compiling maps for Linux)
Get dystopia on there so my clan can come kick your ASS !!!!
Oh btw, you don't have to add it to favorites, just go in console and type "connect ip.goes.in.here:port" (without quotes )
Also last time i saw, CSS wont actually save your favorites

So we're using **% of our available resources so far then... :p ;)
As we've already stated, there are definitely plans to extend this further - Counter-Strike: Source was just the start of the journey in that respect. We're going to be rolling out more game servers (as in instances on this box) in the near future and probably looking to do something more than just that with it too. :)
Now call me old fashioned but I am not a fan of 1U servers, I always think a server should look like it wants to eat your feet as you walk past it, something that looks like it has the power (not that I am doubting this box's credentials of course, I know what you guys are like), something with the presence of say, an old Proliant 8000 hehe.
Well personally I love the idea of that much power in this box. This thing sounds like it has some massively serious oomph, and it's obviously got the capability to run all these different servers in multiple OS's(Ok, so it's not exactly efficient, but it's extremely cool and I'd want to do the exact same thing were I getting to play with that box), so that is impressive. The fact that it fits in 1U is just icing on the cake imo.

It stores mine but only if I add it and quit the game using the menu. If I add a server and then quit using the console 'quit' command it doesn't save. Once added it never leaves!

nice thing with source is you can run lots of different servers off 1 group of files
For eg, if you download the dystopia server
Put it in the srcds folder (im assuming you named it that ;)
tadaa, 1 set of source files, 2 different servers
you can do the same with DOD:S too
i assume you can do the same with HL1 servers - though i have much less experience with those
BTW - wheres the BiT TS server :p
Finally, is
Code:
# 192 "BIT |Marquee Kc" STEAM_0:0:8109753 38:36 127 0 active
One of yours, because he refused to answer for me ;)
Sad to say ive had far too much experience with servers :p even sadder is on windows ;) (how much do you like using linux without a gui :p)
I run my own linux box - shame BT absolutly suck at giving us UK people any decent Broadband Speed
Edit
Oh yeah you should put in the motd (if you didnt) what tag BiT staff will wear, and put a protection on that tag so imposters cant get in ;)

yeah i dont think that bug has been fixed, however - right click your steam icon, click servers, and then click favorites - and their all still in there ;)

Love breaking out the CS:S now and then.
Can't wait for the BF2 Server!
Will be back and I bet many others will...
We could have a server just for those on that beast
I might even finish my de_hanger star wars map for that :D
Twas a good night though, the server was flawless, and it was much fun repeatedly killing garside :D
One vote here for Day of Defeat: Source making an appearance.
Also please do put yodas' maps up. From what I have seen they look excellent!

My server history doesn't work though :(
