Enemy Territory: Quake Wars without a doubt my most wanted game of 2006
because it combines the best bits of ET/rtcw, quake and ut2004
objective based MP, Stroggies and cool Vehicles :D
Ut2007 is probably second on my list, for obvious reasons :p
looking forward to HL2:Aftermath too, cos hl2 rocked :D
Star Wars: Empire at War, cos its Star Wars and the demo was good if really short (the space combat was awesome :D nothing like unleashing a squadron of x-wings on some poor unsuspecting tie fighters :p)
Supreme Commander looks cool too but i havent really looked into it much
Halo is still overrated imo :p
DNF, lol just lol, if it gets released this year i will be shocked and amazed :p
The article mentions the developers might be trying to do something special, but what exactly is the exciting thing.
Perhaps they've found a way of getting graphics properly photo-realistic. Or it could be some kind of new gameplay feature. Maybe they're doing things with sound that've never been done before.
Graphically though, if it's released this year, I can't see it looking better than anything else being released in 2006, so maybe my previous statement was wishful thinking :)
EDIT:
Or perhaps they'll fool us all by making it a Revolution launch title :D
STALKER: because I need a good SP FPS
The Specialists 3.0: Because I still play TS2 more than any other MP game :D
Far Cry 2 (if it gets released this year) because the first one rocked and the tech demo video looks awesome!
The Witcher - Because its adult, and inspired by the Fallout series it looks sexy and should be really good. Although i dont think they have a publisher yet
Only 3 games on that list remotely interest me, personally. The innovative ones, in particular: Spore and Shadow of the Colossus. Aftermath should be interesting too.
We Love Katamari: I'd argue that this is far more anticipated than Ico 2. An absolute cult sensation, particularly within the games industry itself. Proof that games can get released in Western territories when the underground shout out about it enough. This is due out next Friday and every PS2 owner that considers themselves a fan of games that are FUN should buy this.
Zelda - Twilight Princess: How'd this get overlooked? Ridiculous. It looks to be every bit as good as The Ocarina of Time.
Bad Day L.A: A moving piece of artwork. All the graphics design is by uber-cool art duo Kozyndan and the game is being developed by American McGee and co. This will be something very special, if it's pulled off properly.
Guitar Hero: Oh yes, what other game will give you extra points for playing the guitar tilted almost vertical? Let's SHRED! Could be massive.
Animal Crossing - Wild World: With one of the fastest growing internet communities ever, the DS has proved itself worthy of mention. With this, it will only get bigger and bigger. Outselling almost everything else in Japan and the US this Christmas, it can only mean we're next for the game with no actual point.
Sam & Max: What respectable PC gamer is NOT looking forward to this. Only the ones that haven't played the original, I'd assume.
Twilight Princess, STALKER (Vapourware), Far Cry 2, Resident Evil 5 (although due for early 07 now), Aftermath (cause we've ALL wanted to play as Alyx), UT2K7 (for sheer visual sexyness).
Basically, whatever hits and looks like a worth while play.
Spore looks absolutely fantastic. And if it is all that it claims to be could change the way lots of games are developed. Very rightly holds the top spot

I have no money (ie, barely enough to feed myself, let alone my hardware adiction), but I've still pre-ordered this. This really ought to just budge out Shadow of the Colossus coz, dare I say it, it promises to be slightly more fun.
Although does anyone else get the impression that this really ought to be a Nintendo game?

Bring on the PSP version :D:D:D i thinkits out or coming soon not sure need to check but i will propbably buy it its a great game on the PS2 had an import version :D.
- And I couln't give a rats arse about Duke Nukem, games so old unless theve re-done all the graphics it'll be a generation behind when it does finally come out.
No Prey? No Dead Rising? I'd take either over 'Bully' as that seems to be an exercise in publicity.
What about Tabula Rasa? A FPS MMORPG and the return of the creator of the Ultima series.. How about Huxley?
No you mention UT2007, same game prettier graphics - bored now and I have to say including DNF was pointless as nothing is known, no engine is even confirmed, and no screenshots for 3 years!
Test Drive Unlimited - taking driving into mmo territory or Auto Assault Vehicle MMORPG FPS?
Think there is are quite a few more too look foward to but at least you got a nice variation in that article.
(and for me I'm looking forward to some others have mentioned e.g. Quake Wars, STALKER, Far Cry 2, Alan Wake, Oblivion, Spore, Sam & Max, etc...)
So nobody's looking forward to oblivion?! (other than Darkedge)
I've got no doubts that oblivion will be the most played game (at least by me) this year. Played Morrowind for 1000 hours+, and oblivion will be even bigger!
Im also looking forward to Spore, UT2k7, Far Cry 2 and Empire at War (yeah, I think the demo ruled..)
And as Darkedge said, something from the creators of the Ultima series would rule.. Perhaps a new Ultima game that've been developed for years and years, in total silence?! Would be cool.. really cool..

MOST ANTICIPATED
1. Spore, already in list
2. Killzone 2 on PS3, most amazing graphics I have ever seen
3. Elder Scrolls IV - Best A.I. in 2006 and movie-like realtime graphics rendering
4. Gears of War and UT2007 go together
I think that UT2K7 should have been first. The game is going to be the next big hyped up game for Tournys and Lans. Also Duke Nuke forever, the game doesn't look that good. Look at the carpet. What are they thinking.
Also what ever happen to the game that Sony showed, for the PS3 demo. SOme sort of army game. That for sure will be on PC soon or later this year.
