Verdict: A very good mouse for those who can grip it.

Like the Gigabyte GM-M8000, the Revoltec FightMouse Pro is thinner than most mice and has rubber grips on either side. However, the FightMouse Pro veers towards being too thin for our liking, and its slender build means that it's best held with your hand slightly rotated, which may not suit some people.

Resting your hand on top of the FightMouse Pro feels reasonably comfortable, although it won't suit claw-like grips. As such, the FightMouse Pro suits people who move their arm more than their wrist and hand when using it.

The two large thumb buttons are well placed and easy to use, while dpi and mode buttons lie behind the five-way scroll wheel (left, right, up, down and click). The colour of the scroll wheel's light indicates which of the four sensitivity options is currently active. The mode button cycles between three modes, each of which can assign custom commands to any of the main mouse buttons.

The software allows you to configure the FightMouse Pro's X and Y axes separately, and there's a range of 400-3,200dpi from which to choose. You can also set the USB poll rate to between 125Hz and 1KHz - the higher settings provide a slightly smoother pointer. All these options are saved to the mouse's built-in 8KB of memory.

The seven 6g weights take the FightMouse Pro from a pleasantly light 106g when empty to 148g if you use them all. As all the weights are added to the rear of the mouse, it still feels balanced when fully loaded. Revoltec supplies a small box for storing any unused weights.

Conclusion

Judging a mouse is largely a matter of taste, and this is particularly the case with the FightMouse Pro. It has all the features of a high-end gaming mouse, which makes the £40 price reasonable. Weights, sensitivity and USB polling rate, plus a long braided cable, tick the right boxes. However, the shape will suit only those who use their mouse with their hand slightly tilted, and use their arm more than their hand and wrist when moving it. If that sounds like you, this mouse is worth a try.
