VIDEO: Bioshock 2 trailer released

It looks like the Little Sisters have grown up in the sequel, Sea of Dreams

Bioshock 2

Those of you who’ve played Bioshock will know that, unless you have a heart constructed from flint and cement, it can be a tough choice deciding whether you’re going to kill the cute (yet evil looking) Little Sisters and extract their ADAM, or let them live. Your choice even affects whether you’re given one of three possible endings of the game, and it now looks as though their story will continue to be told in the sequel.

Little is known about the sequel so far, except that it will be called Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams and 2K Games has now released a teaser trailer (below) to introduce the game. The trailer shows what appears to be a grown up Little Sister, still clutching a toy, while the city structure of Rapture springs up around here. There’s no gameplay on show, but it does give a hint as to what the game will be about, and it looks as though the game may take you onto dry land.

The trailer was first seen as an extra in the recently released PlayStation 3 version of BioShock, and various dodgy camcorder shots of it sprung up last week. However, the trailer has now been released properly for everyone to see.

Bringing both joy and disappointment in almost equal measures, Bioshock caused a big stir among PC gamers when it was released last year. As a first person RPG it lacked the combat system of games such as F.E.A.R., and it didn’t have the RPG elements of Oblivion either. However, as a game in its own right, it arguably made up for this with its engrossing atmosphere, as well as its gorgeous Art Deco styling and distinctive underwater setting. Whatever your opinion of the game, it proved to be immensely popular, and it’s no surprise that a sequel is already in the works.

Are you excited about a Bioshock sequel? Were you fraught with guilt after killing the Little Sisters, or were you happy with the knowledge that they were just made out of pixels? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
