Acclaimed graffiti artist asked to produce one-off PC design for charity auction
Commodore has approached acclaimed graffiti artist Banksy to design a custom paint job for a PC case.
‘We’ve been in touch with his agent,’ Commodore spokesman Jools Moore told Custom PC, ‘and asked the question “would you like to do something for us?” we’re talking more about a one-off skin to be honest, because I don’t think he’d agree to license his art for profit.’ Moore said that the idea behind the move was to produce a one-off case for a charity auction, which he says could raise ten grand for charity.
Commodore’s new PC cases have a unique paintjob, with a scratch-proof lacquer and a foil print that’s burnt into the metal, meaning that the paintjob effectively becomes a part of the case. This means that Banksy wouldn’t be able to spray directly on to the case, but would have to draw up a design that Commodore would put on to the case.
Commodore has already roped in the talents of UK artist Mysterious Al, who has designed a skin called Butterflies for the company’s range of PCs.
