Interview with Hardcore Computer: The quest for a full immersion cooled desktop PC

Thoughts of full-immersion PCs still fresh in our minds from this years Dream PC competition, a new, more accessible embodiment of the technology hits the market. Custom PC interviews CTO of Hardcore Computer to find out more.

CPC: The big question for us is, will the Reactor system be on sale in the UK?

Chad: We're going to offer sales internationally to the countries that you're allowed to do trade with in the US. We won't be supporting directly to the UK initially. We eventually want to have local support for sales, but we'll sell it to you and we'll ship it to you guys. The system is designed so that it has a universal power supply. The only thing that's different between a US system and a UK system is the cord we ship with it, so it's designed to be sold internationally.

CPC: When you ship the PC, will it be shipped with the liquid separate and at the other end for safety or will it ship complete and ready to go?

Chad: We're gearing up to ship it as a complete assembly with the fluid already in, so you get it, take it out of the box, and it's ready to run. We're pre-configuring it. We're doing 48 hour burn-ins to ensure that everything works perfectly before we send it out.

The PCs are truly custom-built and we'll have an online configurator where you can order your requirements, and we're going to offer a variety of different configurations and a lot of different levels you can build to.

CPC: Well, thanks very much for your time today, Chad, I appreciate it.

Chad: [laughs] No problem. We’ve talked to other magazines and we’ve put them off until later to give more information but because you guys were very interested and ran into us at Nvision before we were ready to talk to anybody, I figured we owed you a call anyway.

CPC: That’s too kind of you.

Chad: [laughs] Not a problem, we like it and if anybody’s as enthusiastic about computers as we are, we love to talk to people and we love to get feedback too.
