You've gotten me all excited over this Next-generation of Bit-Tech now!
Can we expect a regular podcast from it as well?

Facelift? Bit tech has only just recently received a facelift (a great one imo), why another change?
MNC Fear 8th April 2007, 12:01 Quote
Well Done Tim- But can I say a special well done to Bindi. Dealt with him in the past & he is a top bloke. Well Done to both of you :D

Thanks for everyone's well-wishes, just to answer a few questions that have cropped up:

I haven't decided yet... depends what kind of day I'm having when the facelift hits.

I'm hoping so, but as with all things, I want to do things properly - there's no point if it's going to be a half-hearted effort. However, there are plenty of ideas for the coming year and one of those is a weekly podcast.

I can't remember the 'recent' facelift, or are you referring to May 05 when the current version of the site was launched? There have been a few minor functionality tweaks since then, but this facelift is basically happening in conjunction with big back-end changes. It's some slight aesthetic tweaks and it looks very similar to the current design... virtually all of the site layout will remain the same.

I actually think the changes we've made make the site look a lot better and it modernises it a bit, as the 'current' design is getting on for two years old. Damn, doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself? :D

Wow, has it been two years since it was changed to this style. Please don't go web 2.0 on us, all the current 2.0 sites look so tacky.

Note to other bit staff, make sure Tim is happy on that day, or just slip him something in his lunch

Didn't realise it was that long ago.

Has it really been 2 years since the change. I remember the screaming of the hoardes as they were brought kicking and screaming into the century of the fruitbat into the new format. We all love it now. Please don't make it too lairy and harsh on the eyes.

Will the facelift include the new smilies that were talked about? We all know the stance but I'd like to reinforce it - no banner sigs please!

Speed tweaks? Bring them on.

Good luck to all the new staff - looking forward to the increased content.
Tim S 10th April 2007, 09:58 Quote
As far as I'm aware at this moment in time, the smilies will come with a forum update we've got planned! I'll be giving more details on that as and when it gets closer. :)

I thought you had already been doing this job? Well done anyway. Theres alot of changes in yur staffing. Hope all the changes are for the good and looking forward to the new look of Bit-Tech.

The About page needs to be updated, Tim's still Deputy Editor.

You know what you should do. Do a artical about bit-tech itself. How it started and what it is now and show your community the core of Bit-tech and inside its headquarters. We wanna see where you do your reviewing and over clocking and see your working environment that puts this great site together. :)

We'd love to, but unfortunately it'd be a big "please rob us" advertisement ;)

We don't need to see the outside of the building - just whether you guys work in a rat hole or some spacious chrome and glass affair. I second the "Bit-tech: The story so far" article though.
CardJoe 11th April 2007, 10:05 Quote
Its pretty nice here if you must know. The bit-tech and trusted reviews guys share an office, with a photography area and a meeting room with some xboxs and so on in there. Oh and we have a toilet too! (as long as you can wade through thrownaway graphics cards to get to it...)
r4tch3t 11th April 2007, 10:09 Quote
I have seen some photos of the bit offices, one of the parking lot, one from google (can't find it though, RTT must have hacked it away) and one of a scagging graphics card shelf.
Lazlow 11th April 2007, 11:17 Quote
I think many of you are referring to the pictures Wil Harris has on his flickr. Although I think it's changed around a fair bit since they were taken.

I was lucky enough to see the bit offices when I went for an interview - it's like an Aladdin's cave of hardware.

Surely most people know where you are located, and also know you have ridiculous amounts of stuff in there?

Congrats Tim, and welcome Joe :)
