If the dual Shock controller was so bad why is it the most copied controler on the market

The dual shock has been around since PS1, so that's why there are so many. The GC controller is far nicer, even the Xbox (small) feels better.

Sony do a HELL OF A LOT MORE exclusives that are NEVER ported to other consoles. Eventually NGC/Xbox games are ported to other consoles, even if it's after a year (unless it's a game developer owned by the console manufacturer) but that isnt true for a lot of PS2 games.

PS2 was never top of the graphics pile, even when it came out. Dreamcast smacked it down.

Did you hear that, Kitt? That was the sound of thousands of forumites getting waaay too excited. :D

That article shows you clear distaste towards almost all things tech! In the forums we are told to watch our langage...what about the front page???

This site normally introduces highly informative articles to all age groups. That article belongs in a blog, and not on the front page...IMO!

I dont get what all the bitching is about? The customer is always right....not always!

Consumers are demanding more...and more...and more, whilst that may be our right, where do we draw the line? I have seen a lot of progress over the last two-three years and its not going to stop. Unless the previously discussed anarchy strikes soon.

With hatred growing towards all of the top manufacturers, does everyone intend to stop using computers, except apple ones? The article slates Consoles, PC Hardware, Game Developers and more. Are you all going back to the library and join the suduko revolution?

What? Because he said Mas-tur-bate?

maps.google.co.uk gets suddenly scanned by thousands of people looking for a pink house, whilst online pillow sales go through the roof in antisipation.

OT: What would a "flash-pillow-fight" be like? Suddenly hundreds of people turn up in the middle of (London etc/insert place here) and beat the crap out of each other before sodding off. Like post football matches, but softer.

The columns are opinions, held by the author.

Google results: flash pillow fight - I see there have been a few already.

Man that's cool! I want to be in a flash pillow fight although obviously there's a flash pillow fight every ten minutes in the big pink Frag Mansion.

Of course, but there's a right way and a wrong way to disagree with it. :)

This makes me wonder whatever happened to graphics don't make a game. Seems to have gone out the window time ago. :|

Well it wasn't DVD Jon (unless he did it too, but he's not alone if it's the case), but yes. Waste of space as it is imo to have that second disc... but back when DVDs were first released, I loved them. Why? Better picture, no rewinding, and no previews. Well, picture quality is declining (a side effect of using a lossy format and putting tons of extra crap on the disc), still no rewinding, but not only previews but the occasional unskippable ones! For the love of God, what makes them think we want to find out about movies that came out three years ago every time we want to break out an old favoriate? My standard procedure is rip and re-burn, whether it's something I own (nothing since last August, anyways) or am renting or whatever. I want to put the disc in and have the movie start, and that's what I get with my method. A waste of 50c perhaps (disc and case, and covers for some), but 50c is a fair enough price for my convenience. Even if watching my "custom" version is illegal thanks to the DMCA.

Just because enthusiast can afford to keep on the cutting edge doesn't mean we have ANY intention of re-buying all of our hardware after putting in some pointless high-bandwidth digital content protection crap and making your latest $600 card worthless. Luckily games won't be encrypted, and I really have no intention of watching the original movies on my computer. I'm sure that if my current DVDShrink approach can remove CSS, HDShrink will take out HDCP, seeing that it'll be cracked within two weeks of it's formal release.

I love how many people have added this column (not "blog") to their own list of things they hate this week :p

That's always a tricky one. Two great examples are Uplink and Darwinia. They're graphically simple compared to most other games, but with Darwinia in particular, the style of those simple graphics is just as important as the gameplay.

All rounders for teh win :D

Of course the simple solution to all the DRM problems would be to stop buying the products, vote with your wallet, use capitolism to the max and by stop buying them I mean stop obtaining the game/film/cd. If everyone switches to pirate versions it just allows the corporations to use the "if we push these piracy laws though the courts all our problems will be solved" argument. I am always amazed at the number of people who use the well it wasn't worth £5 so i downloaded it instead. if it wasn't worth £5 don't flippen get it. If the population stopped obtaining the products the corporations would change their attitude, they would have to to survive in the marketplace. unfortunatly it will never happen as the vast majority of the population will grumble till the next blue moon but will put up with anything to get their next Harry Potter's ring of desperate housewives does pop product fix.

And writing good columns. ;) A regular column is part of the "new" bit-tech, so you'll just have to get used to it. Or simply don't read it. No one forces you to!

Maybe you 'should' look into blogs then maybe we wont have your rather rubbish and pointless opinions thrusted at us everytime we visit?

A marketing and PR manager aswell now are you? what on earth do you know about 'image' i have seen your black and white hard hitting serious face slapped all over the front of all your columns.. the fact is sex sells, and if a big breasted hottie with a tight bum sells your game then who cares?

As for your opinions on the PS2 who cares? i think the millions and millions of them sold world wide and the fact there is one in almost every living room of the under 40's kind of proves you wrong a little!

Stick to what bit-tech is best at, great honest reviews and well written informative articles..
Wooahh, slow down there little Timmy! ;)

It's ironic that you're slating Wil's right to 'enforce' his views onto everyone else by countering them with your own 'factual' ones. I personally support Bit's decision to include editorial columns in the content- ever since it went pro here, we've been treated to a new feature every day, and if you assume that manufacturers are going to be sending a new piece of hardware 7 days a week, I'm afraid you're being incredibly optimistic. Columns make for a much more exciting piece of literature than reviews and news, even though they're nowhere near as useful. The fact that we're all able to debate the issues raised in the columns gives us the ability to state our opinions over the matter as well- what's written in the initial article is just the opinions and views of people who are knowledgeable in what they are doing and offering a new perspective. As biased or opinionated as you may find some of them, this simply makes the read more interesting and 'fun' to debate.
Just to note- when you post in future, please refrain from your aggressive stance and you'll gain a lot more respect :)

Let's get one thing out of the way, little timmie you should chill out at bit, it's their site, their opinions and they are entitled to it. Everybody knows opinions are like ***holes, everybody got one - now does that mean no one should put the pen to the paper anymore?

Now on the other hand I did find this columns one of the better ones so far - you were spot-on on all points. Good job.

I for one have welcomed Wil's columns since the day of 'The Rocking Modder' on the Inq. ;)
