Gaming 33 - The Mass Effect Pubcast

Posted on 11th Sep 2011 at 10:29 by Podcast with 4 comments

Podcast
Our developer Jamie Cuthill and friend of CPC Joe Percy join Joe, Clive and Paul for another post-pub podcast this week, fielding your questions and discussing the latest gaming news.

We also try to put the over-talked issue of Mass Effect 2 to bed once and for all, with Jamie walking us through his thoughts on playing the first Mass Effect games back to back, while Joe and Paul argue over who is the best squad-member in the game.

Mass Effect 2 isn't the only subject we talk about though - we also find the time to ponder the end of Star Wars Galaxies, as well as Gearbox's announcement that it's working on a new Duke Nukem title.

Podcast
This week we've got Paul, Clive and Joe sitting down for a specially shortened podcast. This is unfortunately due to a technical issue (read: human error) that meant we lost the full length podcast we recorded earlier in the week. Fail cakes.

We still manage to get a fair bit of debate though, with Joe filling us in on Breach which he lauds as his new favourite game ever. We also announce the winner to the competition we set in the last gaming podcast - congratulations to Thomas Ecker!

First on the agenda was our thoughts on the results of the bit-gamer game of the year vote. Joe and Harry were both pretty happy with the game that nabbed the top spot but we also talk about some of the games that we thought would be higher but weren’t.

Episode 23 - More Intel Core i7 and loads of Left 4 Dead

Posted on 25th Nov 2008 at 13:08 by Podcast

Podcast
To cheer you up on a cold and frosty Tuesday, Episode 23 of the Custom PC podcast is out, guaranteed to be louder than ever before. Clive is joined by Staff Writers Antony Leather and Mark Mackay to discuss the price of Core i7 motherboards - is over £250 too much for a single-socket motherboard? Also up for discussion is how to spell Mark’s surname as well as other processor news.

The games chart springs a few surprises, as Lord of the Rings Online releases its Mines of Moria expansion pack at the same time as Wrath of the Litch King is released for World of Warcraft. Whatever the bizarre logic for this, the plan seems to have worked as both expansions are in the Top 10. Btw, how does one pronounce ‘Litch’? Also in the Top 10 are Football Manager 2009 and the horrible-sounding Call of Duty: World at War.
