As I said in my previous post.....this is a war and you must protect yourself and your interests no matter what action is required be it legal, illegal, or just down-right malicious....you do what needs to be done to survive.
Peace
Wait, is this a police officer condoning illegal activity?

Please do not insult me....a police officer? really man....really?
Police are nothing more than puppets with a gun and a badge; with limited jurisdiction at that.
You don't honestly believe that all "Law Enforcement" entities abide by the "law" do you. :)
The point is.....people take for granted what is done for them behind the scenes....often not knowing that there are people actively protecting them while they shop on-line, browse Facebook, and chat with their friends. Think about it.

Not at all. I was trying to say (it may have gotten lost in the rant) that I think the police are doing a good job at using current law to fight these crimes. If anything is "stopping" them, it's politicians trying to get crime statistics down.
Ever since I heard of the people who, in order to protect the innocent, have to face these things and hunt the perpetrators down, I have had the utmost respect for them. No, I wouldn't like to do that job, because I'd probably kill myself after a few days.
By "better training" and "adding more people" I meant to say that (in relation to my home country), these sad excuses for human beings could maybe be hunted down and thus prosecuted faster. We cannot get rid fast enough of sickos like child pornographers.
This wasn't a stab at the authorities tasked with finding them, rather at the politicians not giving them enough resources for doing so.

Ah, police officer was the wrong word but it was all I could think of - sorry :)
And do I think all law enforcement agencies abide by the law - nope - but it was kinda hoping that you were condoning everyone else breaking the law to protect themselves :)
Most people trading child porn use the normal post offices to send their CDs/DVDs around. They talk about it online, then they burn the CD/DVD, go to the post office and mail it to the other person. It's safer.
I think we should come down hard on those sickos. And thank God there are people trying to do just that!
Man this reminds me of that idea of Freedom the American founders had... well I think we know how that ended. But hey people seem to be waking up and are more informed nowadays so although we may no longer be able to save our nations perhaps our internets will be free... oh wait that does not sound right. Well maybe one day when nations can find freedom again the internet will too. Personally I think that the quest to keep the internet free will help some people to remember why freedom is so important and why we need to bring out nation/nations back to it. (depending on where you are from)

What you need to understand here is that there are groups each and every industrialized nation has in place to protect it's citizen's from cyber-threats and for general protection online. These groups vary from a few hundred personnel into the thousands depending how good they are.
Think of these as the feudal system. Consider these people I just mentioned as Knights. Then we have Bishops, Lords/Vassals, etc. At the very top, a function organized by the U.N. is the very elite. I cannot tell you more than that but those are the watchmen who watch everyone, including each other. Of course for their protection I cannot say more about their jobs other than they are here to serve the world, not condemn it.

Well that's a very gray area for us.....we do regularly use syndicate members as bait for larger stings and raids however that type of action requires year and years of research and evidence collection. As far as normal torrenting and P2P operations go....have at it....we are not here for the profit of corporations, but rather the protection of the citizens on the net. We could care less that you just downloaded Terminator Salvation....or that you just downloaded the Black Eyed Peas new album and seeded it to a 40:1 ratio....we honestly could care less....it's the people leaking information and other such sensitive data that we are more concerned about. And that is where Corporations fail.....they do not fund us, they do not control us, and they certainly must abide by OUR laws, not only their governing body's. To put this in perpsective, think of this as a global task force. We are here to protect you because you protect us.

He is right....you would not believe the amount of people doing just that. It's just plain wrong, it's sick and those people deserve to be punished. What you do not know is that although some of them may be out there, the U.N. does not take lightly acts of Child Pornography of Child Endangerment. These people live in hell on earth once they are indicted and sentenced.
I hope that explanation helps you understand the situation a bit better and my previous posts.
