Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost ftw

Same total caffeine content as a can of Red Bull, but it is:
  • still
  • actually quenches your thirst in addition to turning you gibbering caffeine fuelled mess
  • tastes like fruit flavoured water rather than frizzy sugary urine

Energy Drinks are an essential part to long term gaming!

It's not a slow day, we've got plenty of content in the engine for next week :) it's just a light hearted variation on the usual reviews.

Keep up the recommendations peeps and we'll get some more in for another.

1) Euro Start (never heard of it tbh)
2) Rockstar (tried this before! Nice!)
3) Monster (have to find it)
4) Lucozade Sport w/ Caffiene
5) NOS
6) Relentless Inferno or Green (fruit?)
7) Tesco/Sainsburies own brand?
8) Glass Bawls. (oo er!)

Really cool. Damn chuckle with this. How about tasting them against a nice cup of Nescafe.

You can't get it for £2.25, it's misleading, it should read £1.50-£3

The prices mentioned are stated as "typical" so I don't see that as misleading at all. If they were £50 a can, maybe ;-)

Since you are taking recommendations, may I recommend reserving a mains outlet at the "lanparty" (whatever one of they might be :)) for a semi-portable-ish espresso machine. Hell, you're probably carting a huge desktop computer along with you anyway.

Shooting espresso is the way to go. Energy drinks are for girls ;)

You need to try the 24-branded energy drink! Go to a decent-sized Tesco, they have loads of different branded stuff.

My favorite energy drink is a mix of Mt. Dew and Bawls. I call it Bew. Three parts dew to one part bawls. That's the ticket for me.

Very entertaining article :)

Lucozade is great always gives me a boost when I'm out riding my bike.

I find that around 2 litres of Pepsi Max a day (maybe with a couple 330ml mini bottles too) keeps me fresh, on edge and suitably anxious for online games.

"3) Monster (have to find it)"

Highly doubt you'll find it in the UK, that's why people order it online. Maybe a bit strange, as the can says: "Monster energy limited - South bank house, barrow street dublin 4, Ireland.

1,50 quid though, on some online stores. IMO well worth the trouble to get it.

Trying to decide whether that sounds gross or tasty. I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Might also want to do Brain Toniq. It's not an energy drink strictly speaking, but I find it pretty refreshing.

The question is: how do you know how tastes a toilet? XDDDDD

Ice Cold Cherry Jolt is my favourite, though you can only really get it on Day 1 of an I-Series as its then either sold out or warm!

Guava Monster is ace, but i am a big fan of Relentless, it saw me through my 4th year of uni! You can also get Relentless on Draught in certain Weatherspoons, which is just plain dangerous!
pimonserry 14th March 2009, 18:36 Quote
Pssh. I've had 5 Relentless in an hour before, I think I've gone so far that I'm almost completely desensitized.

Anyway, I've never even heard of any of those bar Relentless, and never seen any in shops either.
And you should have included Red Bull just to conclude that is the original and best ;)
+ Some budget ones, Morrisons Energy Source just tastes like watered down Red Bull, but it's 25p a can :D
pimonserry 14th March 2009, 18:38 Quote
Oh, and Lucozade Boost tastes like cack, it's just fizzy water with no noticeable caffeine effect, small, and overpriced (like Mana Potion type).
Ghast 14th March 2009, 18:57 Quote
I recommend Monster Khaos. It tastes like caffeinated Sunny Delight.
Editor22 14th March 2009, 19:02 Quote
Definitely gotta include red bull in the next one, I remember working in a bar and finishing off every can from every vodka red bull think it was about 15 or 16 cans in the space of 3 hours.. damn I was bouncing off the walls for 10 hours then had a MASSIVE caffeine comedown. ill never do that again so respect to you guys lol!
The_Beast 14th March 2009, 19:38 Quote
The only energy drink I've ever tried is monster and redbull

I enjoy MONSTER and BAWLS (original and g33k b33r, in glass bottles) while studying. I think NOS is okay, but I think the new bottles are a bit over-the-top.

Great....

Nice to see that the exact same article is also listed in the copy of Custom PC that landed on my doorstep this morning.

First the L4D article that was "cloned"/"updated" (depending who is ask), and now you are just again "cloning" stuff for Custom PC again. (or vice versa).

Looks like im gunna have to just unsubscribe from Custom PC, looks like i can get the majority of the same content on bit-tech, than i can in their magazine. Or should that be "i should stop reading bit-tech, as its all in Custom PC")

Interestingly... if CustomPC had the time to get it published, shipped off to the printers and delivered etc.. just how long has Bit-tech been sitting on this article in order to not obviously dupe the customPC article ?

...typical dennis publishing :(
