Congrats.
My company is in the process of moving now. I have seen some of thelogistics needed for our move so I think I have some idea what you went through.

True, but compare that to our first flat. We had a mile-long network cable to link together two PCs on a shared 56k connection :'(
That setup was awesomeness incarnate. I have fond memories of lying on my stomach tying grotty phone cables together just to get your (thoroughly illplaced) PC hooked up to the web. And that Ethernet cable was legendary, it went on forever! Ahh, how times change.

lol *imagines* cat5 cable stretching across the road and PC's being pulled flying from desks everytime a car goes down the street and catches the cable. :D
Websites have almost zero operating costs until you start hiring a lot of people, but I'm blown away that the ad revenue and the (minute on PC hardware) margins they cream off the online shopping can anywhere near pay the bills.

websites have significant operating costs with regards to bandwidth and hosting when you get serious about it, not to mention the hours put in. We simply couldnt do the articles we do without a central office - we used to work apart before bit went pro and it was one article every 3 days, plus the cost of shipping kit to each other and phone calls about content was significant too.
Now we do ~7-10 a week and there are still three in editorial + freelancers.
And yes, we have an AWESOME security system B) and 24hr onsite security :)

Lots. :o
They only reason they let Hiren in the office is because (so Joe tells me) he keeps threatening to "bust a cap in yo asses" if they don't. True fact!

Or have it pulled taut and practice trapeze.
