how does this work? is it like the valve steam of old where you can put in a CD/Purchase Key further down the line and re-download it? or once this is downloaded, can you burn it to dvd/backup the installation files? i am a little confused and just dont want to have to download another 6GB anytime soon! especially as it claims this expires within 4-6 weeks! I had a look on the EA site, but couldnt find anything.

Cheers

Ok downloading it now myself, the details given to me by pope have worked a treat. You use EA's own online downloading tool to get the game, after you've gone through the shop with your code etc you get your own game key and then its automatically avalible to download with EA's downloader (only option for downloading it as far as i could see)

EA's downloader apears to be able to continue downloading if the download is interupted and it downloads the files to a place you want it to on your HDD. Thats as far as i've got but as you can tell it where to download the files to i guess that means you can back up those files to DVD and then install them from HDD or DVD. One more thing, should you need to redownload them EA continues to make them avalible to you for 6 months from purchase, after that its up to you to look after your data, unless you splash out 2.99 for their advanced service then they keep it avalible for you to download for 2 years (the 2.99 service isnt included witht he prize though)

Hope that helps Hughwi (and anyone else intrested in how EA's online purchase system works)

[throws away giant stuffed dice]oh well, not like one overclocked GTX and a stock Q6600 would have cut the mustard....

Does anyone else suffer from general stuttering when downloading? I d/l'd about 700MB before turning in for the night, but whilst it was running the EA downloader, it was stuttering very badly - enough to unplug/replug the Logitech G7 usb dongle and get it to redetect the mouse.
