So if I were sponsored by razer i would have to use their products, start sucking , hurt my reputation, stop using razer and then break the contract with them? http://membres.lycos.fr/sifer1/ssst.gif
(not bashing razer here, i just could never get use to my diamondback)

Could not agree more. The Death Adder is a fantastic mouse, but the G7 is just as good I have more trouble deciding which mouse to use than which game to play.

agreed
the Death Adder is incredibly smooth and very confortable. It sure beats the habu, which is also nice for the hand and good looking, but with a much inferior sensor
I love my Death Adder. I want to go to people's houses and plug it into their PCs, within 3 minutes of using it they'll want one. It's lightyears ahead of other gaming mice IMHO.
Thinking of selling my 'new' Copperhead. PM me if you're interested.
I have to say I'm a little bit confused ! But I have only heard bad things about this mouse, from a lot of people online as well as from a friend of mine who had one. Plus, the Habu, which is basically the same mouse because it has the same mechanic, has a LOT of problems with both the sensor AND the drivers
However I cannot say if the mouse is good or not once all those problems are fixed and when you get use to the laser sensor
Therefore, I take back what i said :)

yes this is also a very big factor. I could never EVER get use to my Diamondback (after 8 months of intensive use) but i will never say this is a bad mouse. The sensor is amazingly precise and fast, but the shape of the mouse made me hold it the wrong way ,which made my overall accuracy to be much lower than usual.
Now that I am back with a MX518 , I can finally play normally :)
However I have to say that razer mice are much more solid than logitech's ...... I broke 3 MX510 and one MX518 but my Diamondback still works perfectly on my laptop
For starters; yes you need drivers and firmware, but then again what doesn't? It's part and parcel of current tech life. The mouse does require a bit more juice and it's recommended to use an externally power USB hub. But it is an excellent mouse. From what I've seen (and more importantly used) Razer products are the dogs balls.
It's fine i don't mind if I have to update the firmware and the drivers.
However, for any casual gamer who happen to know nothing about computers, it's not right to have them search the web to find why their damn new 80$ mouse cannot be detected by the drivers even though they followed the instructions perfectly
This to me, is a good reason to call a product a 'bad one'
But then again, this was mostly with the Habu, I am not sure the CH has that many problems
The Copperhead and Deathadder install easily and work extremely well 'out of the box'. Drivers are easy to find on the website and install, firmware is extremely easy to install. The Habu isn't the besy of the Razer products, I think it was the Microsoft involvement that lead them in the wrong direction.
Have to say i tried a razer mouse back when they first came out.. it was nice, but not suited for me, i like to have the whole mouse in my hand. trouble is my fingers are quite long and i have large hands. that is nice for a saturday night out (in) :D , but not for my choices in mice. Have had a G5 for a year and even tho it's comfortable im still thinking of using a bit of clay to make a model of my palm. then one of the mouse.. with a bit of putty and some GRP it should come out nicely.
However, for any casual gamer who happen to know nothing about computers, it's not right to have them search the web to find why their damn new 80$ mouse cannot be detected by the drivers even though they followed the instructions perfectly
I'm not sure if theres such a thing as a 'casual' gamer who'd buy a $80 mouse without knowing how to handle a few drivers.
That said, I never used the Habu so I don't know how bad it is.
Well i browsed the web for a working solution and saw some people who had no idea how to make it work beside unplug and replug the mouse.I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying it's always possible
And yes it is pretty tough to make it work. The problem is that the solution might work for someone but not for you, and there are tons of different solutions. I know i found one that worked for my cousin (habu's owner) , my pc and my laptop. So I guess I found the best one. However I had to test many different technics for hours before i found this one
I had one of their original gaming mice, the boomslayer 2100 iirc. It was a ball mouse so i dumped it pretty quick when optical mice surfaced but it was the best ball mouse i ever owned.
As for now, the only razer products I own are a sweet pair of earbuds i bought off woot.com and boy are they nice.

Razer's mistake , hehe
I have to say one thing though ; modern mice are WAY too expensive. It's getting ridiculous !

Usual excuses given are VAT, higher margins in sale channel etc. But would have been interesting to see a guilty parties reaction.
