Just noticed something (and wanted to add my "I've entered" part). This doesn't specify an OS. Does it come with one? Not that buying an OS is any great imposition for a prize this damn awesome. Now I just gotta work out where to put it.......
hi guys,
im just here for the competition like many others probably are. just wondering how many others there were though.
i think it would be great if somewhere near the closing date we could have a rough number of how many people have entered so we know the odds of us winning

What do we all think?

I think u/we shouldn't know the odds.If we know we'll loose our hope 4 sure.As there's no need to join this forum to enter this contest. That's why chances r very slim coz lot of people i think r entering without joining the forum.
I won't be publishing the number of entrants. As you might well imagine, this has been a popular promotion - everyone involved is very pleased with the response. I would still argue you are more likely to win this compo than for most other things ie lottery etc.
"You have to be in it to win it" is certainly true and I can tell you from first hand experience that competitions often aren't as popular as you might guess. Sometimes the number of entries is actually rather small (relatively).
You can spot any compo that I organise personally because I always try and have as many Runners Up prizes as I can. There can be only one First Prize winner but I always try and spread the love.
Let's see, Lotto 6/49 (popular in Canada), 6 numbers 1-49, no repeats, order not important.
Therefore the odds on any one set of six numbers = 13,983,816 : 1
Most guys have a 140x higher chance of getting breast cancer.
Hello everyone, I have a question for Pope. I sent my entry to the contest by email on the first day of the competition, on Feb 16th, but at the time I hadn't registered for the forums, I just sent my entry to the email specified. Did I need to register to the forums and post a reply here saying that I entered?
Thanks, and sorry for my english, it's not my first language.
Well I have entered A few comps lately but this one is the one I want the most personally because I have to hang round with all my friends and brother who have much much better ones then my broken down one :'( but this is probably the best website I have discovered so far.
But admittedly at first i joined so I could join this comp but I like checking on you guys every few days :D
Also why would you want to know the odds it ruins your hopes I know it would destroy mine.

No, your entry is safe.
As for the people obsessing about the odds, it's definitely less than 13.9 million to 1 :P
Hi, i'm new here.I've previously sent the contest entry to the official contest Email address. But i've clicked the Email's send button twice. That's why Pope u may have got 2 mails from me.So, sorry for that.If u got two mails from me,can u please delete one ? Otherwise that may fall into the multiple entry issue. Please reply me.
And another thing. After sending the entry from my Yahoo id, i've tried to register here using that E Mail id but the forum registration form didn't accept Yahoo id.So, i had to give another id when i've registered in this forum.
That means, my contest entry email & my forum registration emails are different.I hope, that shouldn't be a problem for u.Your official competition email id i think should accept entries from the Yahoo & only the forum registration script isn't accepting Yahoo & other free Email servers.
On the comp page, the Asus board which Bit-tech is giving is a 650i board but the hyperlink on that mobo links to the Asus P5N32-E SLI board which is a 680i based board. :?

To everyone else, they odds are between 1/2 and 1/infinity.
That gives you a chance better than 13.600.000 : 1 :D
Therefore the odds on any one set of six numbers = 13,983,816 : 1

13.9 million to one, hmm, that's better than most state lotteries!!
