I do like Gmail tho I have not used it much.
I am not so sure about the chat thing.
Hotmail has become very annoying. It has
some strange instructions for blocking.
Infact it does not block at all. You still get
the mails coming through.
Too much spam and even when you tell
*it* this is spam, sure as eggs is eggs
the same emails appear from the same
domains.
Wish it was like AOL where you can
customise your email account.

Hi Amber. Welcome
to the forums. Just
a friendly word of
advice - you don't
need to put line
breaks in your
posts - the
browser does it
automatically!!
Gmail has become the poster child for AJAX, the rich-content web technology that mixes Java with XML to produce...
Javascript with XML: "Asynchronous Javascript And XML"
Java and javascript couldn't be more different from each other. And don't attempt to flame telling me that it uses java too. While it can use java, it isn't what AJAX mixes.
Other than that, I like gmail, although the interface is bothersome, and even the AJAX is implemented awkwardly IMO. I use it primarily set as POP3 into ThunderBird unless I'm not at my computer.
If you had signed up to Google Mail before the EU trademark disputes you will have been issued with a gmail.com address, if you sign up now you'll be issued a googlemail.com address.

Yeah, this is true. I signed up after the feud, and mine is [xxx]@googlemail.com address. However, mail sent to [xxx]@gmail.com will hit my inbox just fine, and that is the address I give everyone (i.e. the gmail one). I also love the fact that gmail ignores '.' characters in email addresses, so a.b.c.smith@gmail.com and abc.smith@googlemail.com (plus all other combinations) go to abcsmith@gmail.com. It's just a nice feature so you can format your email address as you like, and it guarantees that no-one else has an email address which differs only by the addition or removal of a '.', which saves a lot of misdirected emails (used to be a real problem with my hotmail account).

Now I have a hotmail which is used for giving to sites I don't trust (no bit-tech is not one of them ;) )
For laughs I tried the Live thingy with my account but I can't seem to log in to the Live Mail system :(
