If I win a beta key for STALKER, does this mean I'll get the full game too when it comes out or is it simply a taster?

Don't really understand the whole beta thing!

Crikey, I remember the leaked alpha screenshots from.. well, years ago. It looked pretty special back then, as it was before HL2 was released.

It doesn't require a nuclear power plant of a PC to run, does it?

You're all wrong, my maths says it's 1992.

If you read the description:

This catastrophe should have occured last year, the game is so delayed that even the dates are out of date :?

I know that the Stalker "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.MP.BUILD.2215.BETA" is available illegaly, there are even almost completely translated versions out there and I think I saw a single player build version, too. But I can't help you any further
A legal Demo is supposed to be out one month before full release I think.

Seriously though, you DONT want it. It's FAR from final code and we've had to run it on such an extreme system just to make it "playable". Even then it crashes here there and everywhere. Personally I'd thouroughly recommend waiting because 99% of people here wont be able to play it.
bloodcar 5th February 2007, 18:23 Quote
I would so enter this competition but it's pointless to me since it wouldn't even be playable at a cell phone resolution on this machine. Good luck to everyone though.

Yea I read that its a b**** to get it running (not talking about stable)
Only few people got it to run somewhat stable with the help of some "tweaks" and still lots of effects and stuff don't work or don't work properly. So I totally agree with you to wait for sometinf offical ;)
Echo 5th February 2007, 19:09 Quote
Yea I'm really worried about it running on my machine too... After its being made out to be such a demanding game..

but entered, and money's on the way to the bit-tech offices...
teamtd11 5th February 2007, 19:33 Quote
entered :D would be nice to give this a try
perplekks45 5th February 2007, 21:00 Quote
Gotta agree with Bindi. I ... eh... hm... saw it running with like 1-2 fps. And no it didn't look better than Crysis. Nor did it have 20 bots with godlike AI running 'round. It's just not optimised.
Entered the comp by the way. :)
