oh i know what your saying here i was just replying to the above post , i think tbh it was obvious a new poster would win lol , im wasnt really bothered if i won it or not
Calm down lads - there's no conspiracy here. All prize entries went into one pool the winner was chosen at random. There is no direct cross-referencing of entries with forum member names at the time of the draw, so there was no way to know whether the winner had one post or 1,000 posts.
I'm sure if I went back through the archives, I would find plenty of past competitions won by regulars. At the end of the day, you have to be in it to win it and everyone has an equal chance of winning.
i can see what you mean and i can also see what the upset ones mean , as the winner had joined and won , lucky on his part yes but its bound to make the odd one a bit miffed . me personally its a comp if i win iwin if i loose ah well thats life

that's pretty much it isn't it :)
how often does anyone win any competitions
also, the competition was for bit tech readers, and not forum users, people may read the bit tech stuff, but never post, there's nothing wrong with doing that
To be fair i'm sure any competition on bit-tech is drawn fairly and without bias. I'm one of the lucky ones who have won a prize but when I did so the competition in question required a certain number of forum posts iirc. I didn't have many posts over that number but still got drawn, as did people for the other prizes with far more posts than i had!

Agree. Like MrWillyWonka who won the last 2 or 3 competitions. :D
Yep, congrats! The 7900GTX card is a stonker of a gfx card. Be very wary if you try overclocking it though as the one or more of the voltage regulator chips on the card itself are prone to overheating and feeding weird voltages to the core/memory whereupon you start to have problems like flickering desktop/3d artifacts/etc. There's threads about it in various places on the net if you want to read up on it.
